    Electron beam guns

    An electron beam gun is a complex vacuum device. It includes a hot cathode, an electron source, a differential vacuum pumping system, electron beam focusing and control systems, high voltage connectors and isolation elements. Laboratory of Vacuum Technologies develops and stock produce high power electron beam guns but we also ready to meet any customer's special requirements. Stock produced electron beam guns are labeled as EGA (Electron beam Gun Axial). These devices have a single stage differential vacuum pumping system and a single magnetic lens. The device construction provides an air cooling of high voltage elements. The electron beam power is varied via the hot cathode electron current emission and via the electron accelerating voltage. Another way of heating power control is to manage time of beam to stay in several positions. Due to the fact that the electron beam power can be varied in a broad range a various technological operations can be fulfilled with the single EGA, for example intensive heating and precise heating of specific regions. Two standard sizes of electron beam guns are enough to cover the whole power range, mentioned above. The operation power of these electron beam guns can be easily customized in a broad range. The main axis of the electron beam gun can be directed at will inside the vacuum chamber, the electron beam control system can direct the electron beam towards any specified location. The pump pipe on the electron beam gun can be directed any way, thus simplifying the installation operations. Power source is connected to the electron beam gun via three separate high voltage cables with the core crossection 4 mm2. The EGA can replace an old Soviet electron beam guns EP, as well as EH and KSR (Germany).
